This week we went underground for an exclusive and unique performance by our ‘The Machine Stops’ composers John Foxx & Benge. The gig took place as part of York’s Vespertine project, taking audiences underground into Britain’s most intact Cold War Bunker. In these amazing surroundings the musicians played their exclusive soundtrack for the show.
Lumen Arts provided live projection from vintage footage of industrial machines and we displayed artwork by We Three Club inspired by the themes of The Machine Stops.

The whole event was followed by a live Q&A at York Theatre Royal. Check out Pilot’s twitter feed and instagram (both @pilot_theatre) for more videos and images from the performance.
The Machine Stops opens this Friday 13th May at York Theatre Royal. It will then tour to The Point, Eastleigh and New Theatre Royal Portsmouth followed by the PlatformShift+ festival in Budapest.
